High Protein Low Carb Bread Rolls

How GOOD is biting into your favourite burger?!?! - Don’t get me wrong as a low carber I am all for naked burgers, lettuce wrap burgers etc because I LOVE extra veggies - but it’s also great to have something that holds together nicely that you can sink your teeth into that is pretty close to the real deal!

This recipe is made with the Protein 6 Seeds Bread Mix This mix is our favourite for all things toast related, BUT it also makes amazing low carb dinner rolls, focaccia and burger buns!

The added bonus of making these rolls, is that they come with a whopping 15g protein. So for those of you who are looking to make vegetarian burgers and find that the veggie patties don’t give you enough protein, these rolls will take care of that for you. Did I mention that they are perfect for meal prep? - Nope, well they are! They can be frozen for up to 3 months, which means anytime you want a burger fix, they are ready to go!

They can be made in any size. We got 9 in this recipe, but you could easily get 10. But if you have a bigger appetite, you can make 8 - No rules!

Ingredients

 1 pack Protein 6 Seeds Bread Mix

 1 1/2 cup (375ml) water

 2 whole eggs

 Seeds for decoration

note

 You can use any of our bread mixes for this recipe. If you do use one other than what is listed, you will need to recalculate the nutrition, if you are tracking macros :)

Directions

1 To make these high Protein low carb bread rolls, you need to preheat oven at 180 degrees and line a tray with baking paper.

2 Whisk together the eggs & water in a bowl, then add the Protein 6 Seeds Mix to the same bowl and combine well.

3Allow the mix to sit for 20 minutes to thicken, this will make it much easier to create the rolls and ensure they stay nice and round throughout baking.

4 Portion your rolls evenly on the lined tray and sprinkle with your favourite seeds.

4 Bake for 25-30 mins or until golden. Allow to cool on rack once baked.

Storage

5 These will keep in the fridge (1-4°C) for up to 5 days, or in the freezer (-18°C) for up to 3 months.

Notes

Recipe and nutritional information is based on 9 rolls. You can make larger rolls, or perhaps little slider rolls, its up to you!
