How to make low carb banana bread…
Both of our low carb banana bread mixes have the same, simple baking processes. Whether you’re making the recipe on the back of the pack, or adding in some extra flavours, the process is super easy.
PRO TIP – Brown, spotty, overripe bananas make the BEST Banana Bread!
PREPARE – Preheat a fan-forced oven to 160°C and line a loaf tin with baking paper.
MIX – In a large bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients, mashed banana, then add the contents of the pack. Stir to combine. Spoon batter into the lined loaf tin and even out.
BAKE – Place in a preheated oven, and bake for 60 minutes. Test with a skewer. After baking, remove from the tin and place on the cooling rack for approx. 2 hours before slicing and ENJOY!
How long will low carb banana bread last?
Because there are no preservatives, sugar or additives in our banana bread, they must be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freezer for up to 3 months, (although I doubt it’ll last that long 😝 )

There’s no added sugar, naturally sweetened and are low in carbs, making them the ideal diabetic snack. These products are also the perfect option for anyone who is trying to limit or reduce their sugar or carbs, or for those managing their blood sugars.
How do you make keto banana bread?
A keto diet is usually 20-30g carbs or less, but this does depend on the individual. Getting into nutritional ketosis can vary from person to person, and some people can tolerate more carbs than others, plus it depends on what your goals are, as well as your current weight & activity level.
Traditional banana bread is definitely not suitable for keto, as it’s made with white flour, sugar, and bananas. Our Protein Banana Bread could easily fit into a keto way of eating with only 6.9g carbs per serve so we would suggest this product. It may not be an everyday choice to those who follow 30g or less carbs per day, however, could still be factored in as a treat or as mini low carb banana bread muffins.
Banana bread on a low carb diet is impossible, right?
Traditionally, yes it WAS impossible, but NOT ANYMORE! - We’ve created a few low carb banana bread mixes that allow you to pick how low you want your carbs to be in your banana bread.
Our Protein Banana Bread has just under 7g carbs per serve while our low carb banana bread has just under 12g. You could easily fit either of these into your low carb eating plan.

Can I use green bananas in low carb banana bread?
Nope, unfortunately not! The BEST bananas for baking low carb banana bread are brown, spotty overripe bananas. This is where you are getting the majority of your sweetness from. These will also create a beautiful moist low carb banana bread along with the additional wet ingredients.
Do you weigh bananas with their skin on?
When it comes to measuring bananas for your low carb banana bread, you measure the edible portion only, so undress those bananas 😜
Why is almond meal used in low carb banana bread?
Almond flour and meal, both have approximately 90% less carbs than traditional wheat or gluten-free flours and half the carbs of coconut flour, making them perfect for low carb, keto and gluten-free baking.
Why is lupin used in low carb banana bread?
It’s a really rich source of natural plant protein and dietary fibre, which helps to keep you fuller for longer, plus it’s a great source of prebiotic fibre for a healthy gut. It’s also gluten-free and has only 4 grams of digestible carbs per 100g (!) which makes it very low GI and low carb. We use lupin as a key ingredient in all our products – so if you’ve been eating our pancakes, muffins, bread, pizza bases, cookies, carrot cake and banana bread, you’ve already had a taste of lupin.
Can I use egg replacer to make low carb banana bread?
Yes, you sure can! If you are unable to or choose not to eat eggs, you can substitute the eggs for our vegan egg replacer in your low carb banana bread loaf.

What other variations of low carb banana bread can I make?
What other flavours go well with bananas??
Pecan or Walnut - simply add 1/2 cup chopped nuts to the batter before baking.
Berries - Add 1 cup of your favourite berry mix to the batter. If using frozen, no need to thaw out, just add them straight to the batter and fold through gently.
Choc Chips - Last, but not least sugar free choc chips - Banana + Choc are the ultimate flavour power couple and will make the most perfect low carb banana bread!
