What is Protein Pizza?

The Protein Bread Co.’s Protein Pizza is essentially a pizza base mix which, with a few added ingredients, will quite literally change your life! This pizza base mix will allow you to have your pizza and eat it – and feel no guilt about it. With only 5g carbs and 50g protein in one 12 inch pizza, you’re going to be meal prepping this for lunch it’s that good. As someone who has tried to make cauliflower pizza bases as a low carb pizza option, using many different recipes (and failing every time), this Protein Pizza will solve many of your issues.

How do you make protein pizza?

Making a protein pizza is super simple; you literally just need the pizza base mix, eggs/egg whites and water! Simply combine 80g of the pizza mix with 3 large eggs/180g egg white and 60ml water. Once the ingredients have been mixed together, you pour the mix into the centre of a grease proof lined pizza tray and spread evenly. I like to bake my pizza base for around 15-20 minutes, until the edges start to go a little crispy. You can then flip the pizza and bake the other side, but I don’t find you normally need to do this. Once the edges have started to crisp, this is when the fun starts and your pizza party begins. The hardest decision is what toppings to use! Start with spreading tomato paste all the way to the edges of the pizza, pop your cheese on and what add whatever toppings you fancy. If you need some inspiration, click here or head to the recipes tab at the top of the web page.

What’s in a protein Pizza base?

In a protein pizza base mix are the following ingredients: golden flax meal, lupin, almond meal, kibbled sunflower, whey protein, sesame seeds, herbs (oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage), garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Its then up to you to add whatever toppings you like. The good thing about the Protein Pizza Co.’s protein pizza is that there are no hidden nasty ingredients, so you’ll be a satisfied full once you’ve had your pizza. The whey protein in the pizza bases is what gives you the protein hit and leaves you feeling full but satisfied. Eating the Protein Bread Co.’s pizza doesn’t leave you feeling bloated like other pizzas can do.

What does a Protein Pizza taste like?

The protein pizza base itself tastes savoury with a slightly nutty taste and a hint of fresh herbs and garlic. It is the perfect ‘carrier’ for your favourite pizza toppings and feels healthy and nutritious. Why not give it a try yourself? I love making pizzas on a Friday night, they feel indulgent but without the guilt. One pack of pizza mix can also create you four pizzas and a pizza can easily be cut up into slices and paired with a salad for work. Once the pizzas have been made, they can last for up to 5 days or refrigerated for up to 3 months. If you want to have a closer look at our Protein Pizzas, simply head over to our Instagram account to see some of the delicious combinations our fellow pizza lovers have made. Each pizza base serving has a total of 190 calories, which is nothing compared to your average pizza. I guarantee – these pizzas will change your world!
