Love love love

Great macros to work with for my low carb gluten free lifestyle (required due to allergies and autoimmune disease). Taste and texture are spot on. And really good value for money compared to take away or delivered pizzas. Better tasting too!

Very nice pizza base

Tried making a pepperoni pizza using the Plant Based Protein Pizza Base. Ok, its not as nice a bought one made fresh from the Pizza places but overall quite happy with the outcome. If you shouldn't have the bought ones then you can still enjoy this without the guilt. Couldn't eat it all so left some in fridge overnight. I think this was even better than when it was hot.

Love it

Not only do I use it as a pizza base, but I also add parmesan cheese and other herbs to the base and turn it into a crunchy cracker for dips etc. I just spread it more thinly and cook it for longer and it is perfect.

The perfect low carb option for Friday pizza night and a great alternative to cauliflower pizza that will actually hold when you pick it up in your hands!

To make a large Plant Based Gluten Free Pizza Base, you’ll need:

  • 80g of Plant Based Gluten Free Pizza Base Mix (1/2 cup firmly packed)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 60mL water (1/4 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)

Note – This is a batter, not a dough, so it is meant to be liquid at first – but don’t worry, it will crisp up during baking. For the ultimate crispy pizza base, add the olive oil.

Prepare – Preheat a fan forced oven to 180°C and line a 30cm tray with baking paper (not greaseproof paper).

Mix – Place 80g of Plant Based Gluten Free Pizza Base Mix (3/4 cup loosely packed) into a large mixing bowl. Add all ingredients and whisk to combine into a smooth liquid batter.

Pour – Pour the batter into the centre of the lined tray and spread evenly to the edges using the back of a spoon.

Bake the Base – Place in a pre-heated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven.

Finish your Pizza – Add your favourite pizza toppings then pop the pizza back into the oven for a further 10-15 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Storage – Baked, un-topped pizza must be stored in the fridge (1-4°C) for up to 5 days, or can be frozen (-18°C) for up to 3 months.
