These Protein Hot Dogs have about 40g protein and about 9g carbs per serve! A super filling and easy meal that the family will love!
6 Hot dogs
1 packet of 6 Australia Seeds Protein Bread Mix 1 1/2 cup (375ml) water 2 whole eggs 1 tablespoon of white vinegar (20ml) 6 x sausages of choice ( we used Cleever's range of beef sausages) 1 onion sliced and sauteed 120 g shredded cheese Sugar free tomato sauce (we used Fountain brand)
Preheat oven for 20 mins on 180 degrees. Empty contents of bread mix into large bowl. In separate bowl whisk together water, eggs and vinegar, pour wet mix into the dry mix and gently fold until just combined, set aside for 10 min to thicken slightly. Prepare two baking trays lined with baking paper. Prepare 6 small squares of baking paper approx. 15x15cm Dollop approximately 1/2 cup of mixture onto piece of small square baking paper, cup with hands and form sausage shape using the baking paper to help squish into shape. If need to, you can also use a small silicon spatular sprayed lightly to help smooth out and shape. Place each bun onto two trays allowing space between each (3 on each tray). Place in oven and cook for 35-40 mins, rotating halfway. Remove and refrigerate. (It is best to prepare hot dog buns ahead of time to allow refrigeration overnight before slicing each bun in half) BBQ or Fry sausages and onion or fry in pan. Add sausage to prepared hotdog bun and top with onion cheese and tomato sauce. (Toast bun slightly if preferred before assembling)
