Low Carb Bread Twists
Nicole from Clean Treats has put together this recipe for bread sticks using our Protein Bread Mix! Perfect addition to an afternoon tea platter as a replacement for carb-filled biscuits.
1 cup Protein Bread Mix 1 Egg White (approx. 2 tbsp) 4 tbsp Water 2-3 tbsp Herbs – Dukkah Mix or Italian Herb Blend 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese, grated Pinch salt 1 Egg, lightly whisked
Combine all the ingredients into a bowl and combine well. Set aside to thicken slightly. Set oven to 170°C and line a baking tray. Once it has become more doughy, pull some off and roll out into a thin strip on a floured surface. Repeat until all dough is used (making sure they’re all the same length – you’ll also need an even number of strips). Twist two strips together and pinch ends. Repeat with all strips and place them on the lined tray. Brush with the lightly whisked egg (to help them brown) and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden. Allow to cool fully and enjoy for afternoon with a fruit and cheese platter and a glass of wine.
